Uncanny Accuracy Begins with Your Glove Hand

Most pitchers think accuracy comes from the throwing arm, but accurate pitching begins with the glove hand.

Most pitchers think accuracy comes from the throwing arm, but accurate pitching begins with the glove hand.

What Happens Without Glove-Hand Control

When the glove hand doesn't move with purpose, the body loses its sequence.

The front foot lands behind the hip, the shoulders lose direction to the target, and the glove hand becomes passive, serving only to maintain balance.

As a result, the target area becomes larger, the throwing arm compensates, and command becomes inconsistent.

The Glove-Hand Palm Flip Creates Precision

A properly timed glove-hand palm flip, with the palm turning toward the target, allows the body to stay connected throughout the delivery.

When the pitcher starts in balance, with the front foot aligned with the back toes and the front toe pointing toward the target, the glove hand naturally turns over as the lower body leads.

That simple movement improves timing, transfers energy through the kinetic chain, reduces the target area, and produces greater command with less effort.

Pitch Smart

The glove-hand palm flip is a sign that your body is moving in the correct sequence.

That's why Sequence Over Strength™ teaches the glove hand first.

We're so confident in our instruction that if we can't help you consistently get the baseball to your target through remote instruction, your instruction is FREE—no questions asked.

The Foundation Of Sequence Over Strength™.

When balance and sequence work together, command becomes more repeatable, velocity develops more efficiently, and unnecessary stress on the throwing arm is reduced.

Proprioception

Every accurate pitch begins with proprioception - your body's ability to sense position, balance, and movement without having to think about it.

When your body knows exactly where it is in space, you stay centered over your back foot, maintain balance, prepare your body to move as one connected motion, and create a stable foundation.

The Kinetic Chain

The kinetic chain is the body's natural sequence of energy transfer, beginning with the ground and moving through the legs, hips, trunk, glove arm, and finally the throwing arm.

Instead of compensation, when each segment moves in the proper order, force is transferred efficiently.

The Glove Arm.

The glove arm balances the body, helps guide direction, controls rotation, and allows the lower body to transfer energy into the baseball.

As the glove arm moves correctly, the hips respond, the front leg stabilizes, and the throwing arm is free to deliver the pitch rather than create it.

When balance and sequence work together, command becomes more repeatable, velocity develops more efficiently, and unnecessary stress on the throwing arm is reduced.

Pitching Perfect

We teach pitchers how to develop the proprioception, balance, and sequencing that allow the body to throw the baseball.

We're so confident in our instruction that if we can't help you consistently get the baseball to your target through video analysis, your instruction is FREE—no questions asked.

THE KEY TO PITCH COMMAND

One of the most important positions in the delivery is the relationship between the front knee and the front hip.

A pitcher's command begins long before the baseball leaves the hand.

One of the most important positions in the delivery is the relationship between the front knee and the front hip.

Front Knee and The Front Knee

When your front knee stays in front of your front hip, your lower body is in position to lead the delivery, alignment allows your stride to land in balance, and your hips to continue moving through the throw.

The force is transferred efficiently from the ground through your legs, core, and into your throwing arm.

Your Throwing Arm

Your throwing arm stays in front of your body instead of falling behind it.

The arm no longer compensates for poor lower-body timing and simply delivers the baseball to the target.

What Not To Do

When the front knee falls behind the front hip, your lower body loses its ability to drive the delivery, your throwing arm is forced to catch up, and command becomes inconsistent.

Missing the target is often a sign that the arm is compensating for a lower-body movement problem.

Pitching Excellence

Proper front knee position helps create repeatable mechanics, efficient velocity, natural ball movement, and consistent command.
